EllaPure Wonderbalm – Review and Competition Giveaway

THIS COMPETITION GIVEAWAY HAS CLOSED

Valentine’s Day is just under a week away so I thought it would be nice to organise a little competition giveaway linked in with another product review. And guess what? EllaPure London have answered my call and given us some goodies to review and giveaway for all you lovelies out there.

About a month ago I connected with Deniese Bent a consultant from EllaPure Ltd through Sophia’s Choice Facebook page. EllaPure like Neal’s Yard offer opportunities to join them and sell their products as a consultant and Deniese is EllaPure London. We got chatting and I was interested in finding out more about some of the products they produce. EllaPure’s products are paraben, SLS & SLES free and they use ingredients from certified organic suppliers who are verified and certified by the Soil Association. Their essential oils are sourced from Aromatherapy Trade Council members, their products are not tested on animals and all ingredients are sourced from sustainable resources. They are also British and members of BuyBritish.com.

Deniese kindly sent me EllaPure’s Wonderbalm to try out after I mentioned that Sophia was suffering with dry, irritated skin around her nose which she kept picking at and making worse. Every cream I applied seemed to sting no matter how pure the ingredients and I was struggling to know what else to apply to help the healing process. It would have helped if she’d just stopped picking at it, but you know kids, they have this tendency to have a play and pick when you aren’t looking and then present you with a worse situation than before. The temptation to fiddle is just too great ! EllaPure describe the balm as being ideal for use on dry lips, cracked heels & elbows, blemishes, spots, nails and much more.

The first pump bottle to arrive unfortunately wouldn’t work. EllaPure have just revamped their packaging and I think I just ended up with a dodgy bottle. The replacement arrived and I’ve been using it on Sophia’s nose since then. I initially tried a little as a patch test to make sure she didn’t have any reaction to it and then we tried it on her nose. I waited for the “Ow, it’s stinging Mummy”, but low and behold, all was well with the world and Sophia smiled ! She happily coated her nose in the balm and commented on how lovely it smelt. She’s had a stuffy nose and hasn’t wanted to blow it as her nose has been so sore, and we seem to have been locked in a cycle.

Anyway, the following morning she appeared happily displaying a calmer looking nose. The skin was less red and angry, the dry, rough areas were lessening and Sophia commented that the smell of the balm had helped her breathe better at night. The Wonderbalm  has the following ingredients; Beeswax, Coconut Oil, Castor Oil, Soya Oil, Avocado Oil, Sunflower Seed Oil, Tea Tree Oil, Borage Oil, Sage Oil and Rosemary Oil. It smells great and I’ve used it for my dry hands which have responded well to its moisturising properties. Hubby has also used it on his nose which has been aggravated from rubbing it from sawdust irritation. He is a carpenter and builder by trade so the skin on his hands, face etc can take a battering depending on the job he is doing at any one time. We've kept using it on Sophia's nose and it's healing beautifully which is a relief. She now grabs for the bottle herself to apply it to her nose.

All in all, EllaPure’s Wonderbalm gets a thumbs up so far. I’ll definitely be using it on the whole family and if its effects so far are anything to go by then I will invest in another bottle once this one is finished.

Update: EllaPure have now ceased trading.
